NMDF Mission & Vision
Perpetuate the heritage of the United States Navy by supporting and raising funds for the establishment of a National Museum of the United States Navy in Washington, D.C.
The new National Museum of the US Navy will be a state-of-the-art facility devoted to telling the storied history of the Navy’s past, present, and future. The centerpiece of a new, more accessible Navy Campus, the museum will become a tangible tribute to the traditions of service and sacrifice exemplified by Navy sailors for more than two hundred years. It will showcase the experience of Navy servicemen and women and create a lasting memorial to the Navy’s central role in our national story.
ACHIEVING THE MISSION OF THE NAVY MUSEUM DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION
The Navy Museum Development Foundation is spearheading the campaign to create the new home for the National Museum of the US Navy.
This will be done by creating a flagship, state-of-the-art museum that will become the centerpiece for the Navy’s national network of museums and provide critical support for Navy history and heritage command.
Why NMDF
The sole purpose of the NMDF is to support and secure funding for the new National Museum of the U.S. Navy project. The allows the NMDF to efficiently establish ties with the wide range of key stakeholders and potential donors. NMDF’s agenda is simple and clear, enabling the execution of its plan and promoting the success of its mission.
